Introverts. We're a very misunderstood people. When an introvert asks for space, it doesn't mean they hate people, or that there's something wrong with them, or that they dislike you. It's very important to us to have that solitary time to recharge.

I can go several days without engaging most people in lengthy conversation, and that's okay.
